I finished the first draft for chapter 1 and it's been ported over to word ready for me to start my re-write.

Chapter 1 currently stands at 5189 words. This may not seem like much, but for context the prologue was about 1900 before I rewrote it. This will consist of adding detail to scenes, shuffling things about to ensure they make the most narrative sense, adding in flavour text and potentially more choices, as well as adding in the actual scenes for choices I added in too late to write into the paper version but have made a note of since. I fully expect the word count to double before it's ready to be added to the demo.

So my to-do list currently:

Re-write and edit chapter 1

Coding for chapter 1 (usually I do this as I go along with the re-write)

Bug-testing (though again, I usually do this as I go along).

Then doing the whole thing again for the interlude! Though I'll still be writing this on paper on weekdays since I don't have time to access my PC around work at the moment - this may change as we settle back into the school year.

Currently looking at being on track for end of September release of Chapter 1 and the first interlude together. I won't set specific dates, I'm hoping to just release it as soon as it's ready.

Once that's done I'm thinking I'll take a short break and work on the prologue for From The Depths. My hope is to switch between them as I finish chapters, though FTD doesn't have a completed plan past chapter 5 yet so we'll see how we go when I get there.
